The first bench, comprising acting Chief Justice Satish K Agnihotri and Justice MM Sundresh, made the observation while asking Advocate General AL Somayaji to read the order passed by the court regarding erection of unauthorized digital banners and hoardings.
It also directed the concerned authorities to furnish the details about the criminal action taken against the violators.
The directives were given during the hearing of a contempt petition filed by Traffic Ramaswamy, alias Ramaswamy, seeking implementation of the January 9 court order strictly and to punish the authorities, including the Chennai Collector and Commissioner of Police, for their willful disobedience of the order.
