Cuttack, Jan 22 (Agencies):The vigilance Department has detected huge sales tax evasion during raids inseveral business establishments in Orissa in the period of 2010.

The anti-corruption wing of the police Department has detected at least 366 tax evasion cases in the year raiding different business premises under Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Sambalpur,Balasore and Koraput vigilance divisions.  

According to a press release issued by the vigilance Directorate here, the enforcement squads collected nearly Rs 11 crore as casual tax from the unscrupulous business houses during the period.
The release said vigilance officers along with forest Department officials registered at least 125 forest law violation cases in the same period.

The officials of both the Departments seized timber and saw mill accessories,valued at over Rs 1.50 crore during the period.
