"Srinagar recorded a minimum of minus two degrees against minus 5.4 on Friday. Similarly, the minimum temperature recorded in Gulmarg was minus three against minus 4.8 on Friday while it was minus three in Pahalgam on Saturday against Friday's minus 7.6," .

"Leh town recorded minus 13.6 on Saturday against Friday's minus 17.1 degrees Celsius while  Kargil's minimum temperature was minus 16.4 which was, however, marginally lower than 16.1 recorded on Friday."

"The minimum in Jammu was 8.8 degrees Celsius on Saturday against 6.6 on Friday again showing improvement," he added.

The official said light rain and snowfall is expected in the mountains of the Valley during the next 24 hours while the weather would remain cloudy in the plains during the same period.
