New Delhi: Following the arrest of sacked chief of the CWG Organising Committee Suresh Kalmadi, the owners and senior officials of the companies allegedly involved in Timing, Scoring and Result (TSR) scam are absconding.

According to reports, the senior officials of Swiss Timing- the company which was awarded the contract for TSR system for Commonwealth Games 2010, Gem International and AKR Construction are on the run.

Investigating the CWG scam, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has charged that in connivance with Kalmadi, Swiss Timing has managed Rs 107 crores, and through it the Gem International received Rs 23 crores and from the latter AKR Construction got Rs 13 crores.  It is alleged that Swiss Timing used the other two companies as fronts to pay kickbacks to Suresh Kalmadi.

Soon after the arrest of Kalmadi on Tuesday, when the CBI officials raided the Swiss Timing’s Gurgaon office in search of documents related to the contract, it found no senior official present in the office. And the subordinate officials denied handing over any document to the investigating agency.

“If concerned officials of the company will not cooperate with us in a day or two and do not hand over the requisite documents, the CBI will take action against them,” a senior CBI official said.

Meanwhile, Faridabad-based Gem International owner A K Madan and AKR Construction owner A K Reddy are also absconding, since the name of their companies figured in the scam.

The CBI, which has already raided their houses, has launched a manhunt and is also likely to approach court for issuing an arrest warrant against them, said the official.
