Rao told here that for nearly two decades the issue of Tungabhadra canals modernisation was pending and now with the initiative of the chief minister it would become a reality.Naidu and his Karnataka counterpart signed an agreement for modernisation of Tungabhadra canals in Bengaluru on Monday.

He said that drinking water will also be supplied to the four- Anantapur, Kurnool, Kadapa and Chittoor districts. Rao alleged that the previous Congress government had totally neglected irrigation projects which resulted in paucity of irrigation water in the state.
