He chaired a meeting at Karachi Corps Headquarters which was attended by Corps Commander Karachi, ISI chief, paramilitary Rangers chief and other senior officials.

Military spokesman Lt Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa said that the security situation and ongoing operation by Rangers was reviewed at the meeting.     

Besides the operation, Gen Sharif was also briefed on the continuing intelligence-based operations in the metropolis.

He expressed satisfaction over the operation and also appreciated the paramilitary Rangers and other law enforcement agencies for improving the city’s security situation.

He commended the intelligence agencies for achieving major breakthroughs in unearthing various terrorists' networks and dismantling their terror infrastructure.
Karachi is a metropolis and financial hub of Pakistan and had faced law and order situation. An operation launched in 2013 has drastically improved the security situation.
