According to local reports, FIA submitted a charge sheet on Thursday before an anti-terrorism court (ATC) and placed Zafar in the second column which means that no evidence was found against him.

However, prosecution ordered FIA to do further probe into the matter and submit a separate challan to the court on September 22.

Zafar is a former activist of banned terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba and had allegedly provided financial assistance for the 26/11 Mumbai attacks of 2008. The charge sheet against him mentioned that he had transferred Rs 14,800 into a suspect's account.

Zafar, along with Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi and seven other people, was declared a proclaimed offender in 2011.
