Jaipur: In what can be termed as a breach of diplomatic protocol, Pakistan's Senior Federal Minister for Commerce Makhdoom Amin Fahim held a meeting at a hotel in Ajmer without seeking prior permission from the concerned district and police authorities.

The meet was attended by thousands of people from nearby districts of Barmer and Jaisalmer. Ironically, the administrative as well as police officials of both the districts acted like mute spectators in the entire episode.

As the matter was related to the Pakistan’s Minister, the concerned authorities were quick to wash their hands off the issue.

Fahim has his own argument to justify the act. He said, “Apart from being a politician, I am also a spiritual leader of Sarwari Jamma.” Getting the news of Fahim’s arrival in Ajmer, thousands of his followers arrived at the hotel to meet him.

In his address, Fahim urged his followers to abide by the law of their country and maintain healthy ties with the neighbouring country.
