Srinagar: Pakistani troops on Wednesday violated ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) by resorting to unprovoked firing for nearly 30 minutes in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said.

Pakistani troops opened fire on Indian posts along the LoC between Saidan and Doda in Poonch sector at 10.45 AM.

Indian troops fired back to silence the Pakistani guns. The exchange of fire between the two sides continued till 11:15 AM.

The incident came at a time when Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is on a two-day tour of the state.
