Palwal: The absence of a Public Cord Blood Bank in Palwal district headquarters has more than often created a problem for the local populace. Taking the issue into account, a delegation of Manav Seva Samiti have handed over a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner laying thrust on the need of a blood bank.

After the opening of a blood bank people will not have to pay to purchase blood, only a payment of Rs 500 would have to be made as testing charge. The BPL families would avail the benefits of the blood bank without even paying the testing charge.

With no blood bank in the district headquarters, people have been forced to either purchase blood from Delhi and Faridabad or take the shelter of social organization. Either ways, people have to shell out a huge amount to get blood in time of need. The entire process requires a lot of time and money.

Manav Seva Samiti members handed over a memorandum to Palwal Deputy Commissioner for the opening the public cord blood bank at district headquarters. The memorandum was submitted by the committee led by the local unit chief Sita Varma.

It has been conveyed to the district administration through the memorandum that in absence of public cord blood bank, people in need are compelled to run towards big hospitals or social organization in Delhi or Faridabad.
