Kolkata: Making the party stand clear on Anna Hazare’s ongoing crusade against corruption, CPM state secretary Biman Bose asserted that only the Parliament has the right to frame laws.

He observed that protests could be staged on roads but it is not possible to frame law on the streets. The CPM leader said, “Under a parliamentary system, only the Parliament is entitled to frame laws.”

Expressing solidarity to the campaign of Anna Hazare, Bose said, “Our party has always raised voice against corruption. CPM has strongly opposed the ineffective draft for Lokpal and has raised the demand for a strong and effective Ombudsman mechanism.”

He also emphasized on the need to curb the foul means and misuse of money during polls.
