The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs noted the submission of the Home Ministry that NIA is handling the investigation of the January 2 terror attack in the strategic air base in Punjab.

"...terrorists belong to Jaish-e-Mohammad, based in Pakistan, have been found to be behind this attack but the Committee would like to be apprised what made the government of India to seek the help of Pakistan into investigation of this terror attack and invite a Joint Investigation Team from Pakistan to India," the Committee noted.

Its report was tabled in Parliament today. The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) of Pakistan had visited India for five days in March to collect evidence on terrorists who carried out the January 2 attack on Pathankot air base. India has also sought a visit of NIA to Pakistan in connection with the probe.
