New Delhi: Lok Janshakti Party chief Ram Vilas Paswan has asked Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to resign on the moral ground after the land allotted by Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) allegedly in favour of some state ministers and officers’ relatives came to light.

Demanding a CBI enquiry, an LJP delegation would meet the President Pratibha Patil on Wednesday.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Paswan said, “Since the incident of police firing in Forbesganj we have been saying that irregularities on big scale are going on in BIADA land allotment in the name of industrialization.”

Earlier, 105 acres of land had been acquired by BIADA from the farmers in Forbesganj for setting up industries. Later, the land was allotted to the son of a BJP MLC that created controversy and invited protests from farmers. Four people lost their life in the consequent police firing.

“Corruption is rampant in the regime of Nitish Kumar government. Priceless land was allotted to the son and daughters of some ministers at very low price,” Paswan said.
