SriMuktsar Sahib: Shortage of doctors in government hospital is proving to be great hindrance in the way of plans executed by the Centre as well as the states.

Generally trauma cases reach the civil hospitals but there are no doctors available in the orthopedics department.

Also fund is allocated in the budget of the state for health facilities in these hospitals .Notably most of the plans initiated by the state government lose steam on the lower strata.

The government also spends on the lodging and fooding during deliveries of women under the NRHM scheme but once again shortage of doctors proves to be a bottleneck in providing proper care to them.

Moreover, only one gynecologist is posted in the hospital presently.

Moreover, there are no ophthalmologists working in the hospital presently. Also post of radiologists is vacant here.

People are compelled to manage radiology services from outside the hospital campus at four times more charges.

Apart these there are not sufficient number of doctors in other departments of the hospital also.
