Patna: The Patna High Court on Wednesday passed an order staying a vigilance court’s verdict to attach assets of Bihar ex-DGP Narayan Mishra for allegedly amassing wealth beyond his known source of income between 1984-2007.

Earlier on February 1, a vigilance court had ordered to attach the property of Mishra, his wife and daughter-in-law.

The vigilance bureau had registered a disproportionate assets case against Mishra and his family in July 2007. It had charged Mishra and his family of amassing wealth to the tune of Rs 1.40 crore.

The attachment of Mishra's property under the Bihar Special Courts Act is the second major case of unearthing corruption in the state. Earlier in September 2011, the property of former IAS officer Shiv Shanker Verma was attached.
