Kolkata: Owing to the pressure of political existence in Junglemahal, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has decided to go out of the box to tackle the Maoist menace in the state.

Following which she has given a green signal to the operation ‘Green Hunt.’ Otherwise, it is believed that there are much chances of Trinamool Congress (TMC) being wiped out of Junglemahal area.

It is also believed that with an aim to boost the courage of the party workers after the recent killing of two Trinamool Congress members by Maoists, Mamata has announced the resumption of anti-Maoist operations.

Significantly, during the recently concluded assembly elections, the Maoists had indirectly supported TMC. With TMC registering a thumping victory in the state polls, the expectations of Maoists shot over the roof.
Thereafter, they not only enforced pressure on the state government for the release of their imprisoned companions, but also demanded for the withdrawal of security forces. Besides, Maoists also started creating hindrances in the developmental activities.

Refusing to part ways with violence, Maoists killed TMC supporters and members and the process still continues unabated. As a result, the activities of the Maoists had direct impact on active TMC members in Junglemahal area.

Meanwhile, not missing a chance in the ongoing fight of two sides, the main opposition party in the state, CPI (M) started to unite its party cadres and launched campaign for their activeness.

In the given situation, it became essential for Mamata to reinstate confidence in her party members. Hence, she decided to resume the anti-Maoist operations in the area so that her party workers could perform their duties fearlessly. In addition, with the announcement of several development projects in the state, she has also managed to gain the confidence of the people.

Meanwhile, the TMC with the help of its supporters has created two organisations, Jan Jagran Manch and the Bhairav Vahini. The Jan Jagran Manch is taking out rallies in the Naxal-hit areas, whereas the Bhairav Vahini is making an effort to unite people against the Maoists. The organisation members are also acting as informers for the police.

These organisations are being directly supported by TMC MP Subhendu Adhikari, Self Employment Minister of Trinamool Congress Santiram Mahato and Union Minister Mukul Roy.

However, it is believed that taking the activeness of the Maoists into consideration, both the organizations of TMC are scared of performing their duties. Maybe, this is the reason why the Chief Minister herself decided to intervene this time.
