Patna: People of Bihar, who are not getting adequate supply of electricity, are being compelled to pay electricity bills after standing in long queues under the open sky. What’s the most distressing is that there has been a 31 percent increase in power tariff in the state during the last one year.

Neither shades nor drinking water is available at various counters located at Bahadurpur, Digha, Kankarbagh , Meena Bazar. Besides, no proper arrangement of shades leaves alone availability of water at these places.

People are compelled to tolerate scorching heat for submitting electricity bills. Also, there is no proper arrangement of water except in PESU headquarters. However, the fans are installed here but they seldom move forcing the people to sweat under the scorching sun. All the arrangements to protect people from the scorching heat have become ineffective due to mammoth gathering at the counters.

Moreover, there is inadequate sitting arrangement at the SK Puri counter. Adding to the woes of people electricity department officials has erected a broken electricity pole. On the other a few people tend to shed their tiredness by sitting on this poll. In addition to it, there is no separate counter for ladies.
