Gwalior: Yoga guru Baba Ramdev, who is set to launch his three-month-long Bharat Swabhiman yatra against corruption and black money on Tuesday from Jhansi, dared all those who doubt his support base that people would come to know about his strength at Jhansi.

Before starting his ‘pad yatra’, Ramdev here paid tribute to freedom fighter Rani Lakshmibai.

Speaking to the media after offering flowers on the queen’s memorial, he said, “My yatra is to bring about a change in the system to eradicate corruption and to bring back black money worth Rs 400 lakh crore deposited in foreign banks for development of the nation.”

Claiming wide support for his movement, he said, “There were 10 crore supporters in my previous yatra and this time, the number will be much more than that.”

On being questioned whether the government will be dealing with him in the same way as it did at Ramlila Maidan, he said that now the government has understood and will not repeat the mistake.

Addressing the people in Gwalior, he said that by not allowing his fast at Ramlila Maidan, the government had diverted the cause from the core issue. On controversies surrounding his close aide Balkrishna, he said, “Acharya Balkrishna, who served lakhs of people, is being accused of various charges. Mere accusations do not prove a person guilty.”

He added that he is leading the path of ‘dharma’ that would help in curbing inflation.
