Panipat: After facing wrath of common man over capping subsidized gas cylinders, Petroleum & Natural Gas Ministry has scrapped 21-day time limit for its booking and delivery. The local gas agencies have been empowered to decide the delivery of 2nd cylinder to the consumers.

As per the new provision, before making 2nd delivery dealers would have to ensure that the consumers are not going to misuse it. In addition to it, ministry has also issued special guidelines on its official website for the consumers to sort out their queries in this regard.

Gunjan Dev, Regional Manager (Sales) Indian Oil Corporation, Jalandhar has confirmed the scrapping of 21-day time limit for delivery of cylinders. No minimum and maximum time period has been fixed for the delivery of 2nd cylinder added Dev.

A nationwide campaign has been launched under which it has been said that only those consumers, who have more than one connection in their names, will have to fill the KYC (Know Your Customer) forms.
However, those having single connection have been provided immunity from this. Ministry has also extended the date of submission of these forms till November 30.

A toll free helpline no 1800-2333-555 has been issued for the consumers on which they would be informed how they can continue to avail non-subsidized cylinders without completing the formalities of filling KYC forms.
