Piaggio Group is the parent organization of the Aprilia that has now manufactured the SR 150 scooter from Piaggio’s Indian plant at Baramati, in Maharashtra. As announced by the Piaggio Group, the introductory price of the Aprilia SR 150 will be Rs. 65,000.

This will be the first scooter from Aprilia to be manufactured fully in India. All the units will be made at the Maharashtra Baramati plant of the Piaggio Group.

The Aprilia SR 150 is quite sporty in its looks and European in style. The telescopic front forks suspension is super-aggressive along with the large 14-inch front wheel. Both the forks and the front wheel render the scooter the look of a motorcycle. The front wheel also gets a 220 mm disc brake. Braking equipment gets complete with the 140 mm drum brake on the rear wheel.

The headlight goes much below the instrument cluster, while the left and right indicators are closely positioned near the console. The instruments on the console are fully analog. From the side profile, the Aprilia SR 150 looks fully European.

The engine powering the Vespa 150 might also power the Aprilia SR 150 with the 154.4 cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, air-cooled, engine. Mated to a CVT, the power output of this engine is 12 PS and 11 Nm of torque.

Buyers and enthusiasts can book for the Aprilia SR 150 sometime soon, from the distributor networks of the Piaggio Group all over India.
