New Delhi: In a bid to strengthen its relationships with the ASEAN countries, India has geared up to host the ‘Delhi Dialogue’ to be held on February 13-14 next month. Presided by the foreign ministry the summit will witness discussions on the partnerships in the interests of the economic cooperation and the political security between India and ASEAN countries.

According to sources, along with the foreign minister of Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia, leaders of other ASEAN countries will grace the occasion with their presence.  This will be the first time since last year’s ASEAN summit, that India will play host to the partner countries of South China Sea.

The Delhi Dialogue being organized in partnership with the foreign ministry and the Indian Council for World Affairs will hold a session on political stability and security concerns. The theme for summit will be ‘India and ASEAN: Partners for Peace, Progress and Stability’.

The External Affairs Ministry has already sent invitations to the foreign ministers of the ASEAN countries. The leaders of the ASEAN countries have been regularly visiting New Delhi since the ASEAN Summit held in November 2011, signifying the increasing proximity of India and ASEAN countries.
