New Delhi: Don’t be so surprised if you see a 40 years old guy in a diaper and having feeder in his mouth on foreign streets as adult babies are becoming a rage amongst overseas’ adults to find a new way of relaxing themselves.  Adult babies are happy to be pampered; they love to live like adults.

Adult babies’ syndrome or paraphilic infantilism, which is also popular as autonepiophilia in the Western world, are commonly distinguished as adult babies (who role plays infants) and sissy adults (who role plays as the infant of opposite gender). Adult babies can be a sexual fetish for some that involves role-playing a regression to an infant-like state. Behaviours may include drinking from a bottle or wearing diapers.

Individuals may engage in gentle and nurturing experiences (an adult who engages in infantilistic play is known as an adult baby).

A 31 year old Stanley Thronton has spent 18 years as an adult baby. He says, “I feel like, when I’m wearing a diaper, it’s like a constant hug from mommy. I think about acting like a baby every day. For me it’s a big part of my life, it’s something you can go to bed doing.”

According to Dr. Vichitra Dargan Anand a famous psychiatrist, “Adult babies are a form of regression in which people try to do anything like a kid to overcome stress. But in my 20 years of career, I have never been through such kind of cases except one, in which a 35 years lady started behaving like a kid to hide her extra marital affair.”

“It’s seen as very unusual in India but it already exists in our society, the only thing is that we are avoiding such kind of issues, added Dr. Vichictra.

“It it wrong to say that this kind of syndrome or diseases has come from foreign countries. Such cases have been evident in India too. We hide loopholes of our society by only blaming foreign culture,” said Dr. Sudha Aarya, professor of psychology.

We are almost aping everything from foreign cultures; let’s see when India will be able to fully explore the secretive world of adult babies.
