Noida: Buying a piece of land at the Yamuna Expressway will now be a costly affair as the authority is planning to raise allotment value of the plots by 15 to 20 percent.

The proposed plan to raise the allotment value will be presented in upcoming budget board meeting. If passed, the new rates will be applicable from April 1.

The Yamuna Expressway authority is likely to raise the compensation rates given to the farmers by 8 percent in April.

The value of plots and houses at the Yamuna Expressway depends on the compensation rates that are offered to the farmers against acquisition of their lands.

Notably, the plots at Noida and Greater Noida are more expensive than Yamuna Expressway. Currently, Yamuna Authorities are offering residential plots at Rs 8,900 per square metre.
