PM Modi waved at people at the airport and thereafter left for his official 7RCR residence. After addressing Indian diaspora at Dubai Cricket Stadium, he left for home by the special Air India plane.

The two sides decided to elevate India-UAE relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership and chart out a new course for cooperation in key areas like trade and investment, defence, security, maritime security and intelligence sharing.

Modi is the first Indian Prime Minister to visit the UAE after three decades. In 1981, the then PM Indira Gandhi visited Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the biggest mosque in Abu Dhabi.
