This was disclosed by the spokesman of the External Affairs Ministry Vikas Swarup, here today. Prime Minister Modi said India- China cooperation to fight terrorism would make Asia safer.

Briefing the media here, MEA (Secretary East) Anil Wadhwa said that Chinese attention on innovation matched with 'Digital India' and 'Startup India'.

Vikas Swarup also disclosed that Prime Minister Modi interacted with members of the ASEAN countries who had gathered at Kuala Lumpur.



The Prime Minister said that policies like 'Digital India' will contribute to the development of ASEAN countries. "The ASEAN-India innovation platform will focus on clean energy and health care," said the Prime Minister.

Anil Wadhwa disclosed that the Prime Minister also said he was delighted that the first recipient of ICCR distinguished alumini award was ASEAN Secretary General Le Luong Minh. He said that India had special interest in the Dawei special economic zone.

"Prime Minister Modi acknowledged Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's vigour and commitment towards India-Japan relations. He invited Japan to be a part of 'Make in India' especially in the defence sector," Vikas Swarup added.
