PM Modi on Saturday concluded his three-nation tour of France, Germany and Canada. The Prime Minister embarked on three-nation tour on April 9. France was the first destination of his nine-day tour, while Canada was the last.

While addressing the Indian diaspora at Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto, Modi had claimed that it took 42 years for an Indian Prime Minister to visit Canada.

Congress, later launched a scathing attack against PM Modi over his claim saying that during UPA tenure, Manmohan Singh had visited Canada.

However, after the controversy, the Ministry of External Affairs on Saturday made it clear how Modi's visit was different from Manmohan's.

The Ministry said that the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had made a visit to Canada to take part in G-20 meet.
