New Delhi: Taking serious note of the dominance of International pharmaceutical companies in the Indian market, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will hold a meeting with the Ministries to review government's decision to cap Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the pharma sector.

The meeting is scheduled to take place on October 19. Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and Commerce Minister Anand Sharma will be present in the meeting to discuss about limiting FDI.

However, presence of Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee for the meeting is not yet clear.

The Union Health Minister has been constantly opposing 100 per cent FDI in the pharma sector. He wrote a letter to Prime Minister demanding him to interfere in the matter. According to Azad, owing to the growing dominance of multinational companies, there are chances of spike in medicine prices
