India will compete at the 2014 Commonwealth Games at Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom from 23 July to 3 August 2014.

•    India's track and field squad, comprising of 17 women and 15 men in addition to 12 coaches and three support staff, will be seen in action in track and field competitions


The 2014 Commonwealth Games (officially the XX Commonwealth Games) will be held in Glasgow, Scotland, from 23 July to 3 August 2014.

It is the third largest multi-sport event after the Olympics and the Asian Games.

It will be the largest multi-sport event ever held in Scotland with around 4,560 competing athletes across 17 different sports, although the country previously hosted the 1970 and 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh.

Over the last 10 years, however, Glasgow and Scotland had staged World, Commonwealth, European, or British events in all 17 sports proposed for the 2014 Commonwealth Games, including the World Badminton Championships in 1997.
