Chandigarh: Rich tributes were on Sunday paid at several parts of Haryana to policemen and para military personnel, who laid down their lives while discharging duties.

The state-level function was organised at police lines, Panchkula, where Director General of Police, Ranjeev Dalal and other senior police officers paid floral tributes to 570 police personnel of various state police forces, para military forces and those of Haryana police, who laid down their lives during this year.

Four police personnel from the state were killed on duty in past one year.

They included Head Constable Raj Kumar of Jind district, constables, Sanjay Kumar of Sirsa district, Ram Niwas of Panipat district and Mahabir Singh of Faridabad, an official release said in Chandigarh.
