Muzaffarnagar: The Bullandshahr police came under the scanner after it failed to produce in court here BSP MLA Mohd Alima and his brother who were accused of sexual exploitation in an 18-year-old case.

Superintendent Police G N Tripathi informed the court of additional chief judicial magistrate Vikas Goel that BSP MLA Mohd Alima and his brother Mohd Yunus were absent from their house when the police reached there with the arrest warrants.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the police's inability in serving warrant on the two accused, the court has directed them to produce the brothers before it on November 30.

The case pending in the court here was lodged after 48 girls hailing from Nepal were rescued from Muzaffarnagar on June 5, 2003.
