Srinagar,Jan 31(Agencies): A police officer was on Monday injured in a clash with an angry mob protesting frequent power cuts in Bandipora Dstrict of north Kashmir, official sources said.
   
The clash occurred at Batpora village of Bandipora town, 55 kms from here, after a police party swung into action to disperse a group of people who had blocked the main road to demand uninterrupted power supply, they said.

The protestors pelted stones at the police injuring Station House Officer of Bandipora police station Inspector Mohammad Khalid was hit by a stone on the head and was shifted to hospital,  the sources said adding he received three stitches before being discharged.
   
Policemen fired several teargas shells and used batons to disperse the protestors who raised anti-government slogans, the sources added.
