A combined team of CRPF and district armed police launched a massive search operation in the forest and apprehended Kishore Kisku alias Diwakar, a resident of Pirtand police station area of Giridih district, last night, Superintendent of Police N K Singh said.

Police recovered seven rifles, one revolver, one pistol, one country-made gun and cartridges from the spot.

It is worth mentioning that maoists have killed police and politicians, and targeted government buildings and railway tracks in an insurgency that has killed thousands since 1960s.

In the first Naxal attack the maoist had blown up a residential school building in Thalkobad in June, 2006 The maoists were trained to make and plant landmines, the top police officer said.
