Ranchi: Buoyed by the recent success of arresting top Maoists, Jharkhand police look forward for more cooperation from the people and assured them to pay the reward money with utmost care.

"We have our method to verifying the person to disburse the reward money. In the case of Naveen Manjhi, we have rewarded," Inspector General of Police (Operation) S N Pradhan told.

'Zonal Commander' Manjhi, wanted in 110 cases in four states, was arrested in Hazaribagh on May 31.

Anybody willing to help the police can call up and inform about the Maoists after getting phone numbers of all police officers in police website, he said.

In one of the most successful arrests in recent months, Kishenji’s close aide Ramdas Ganju alias Nandu was arrested in Ranchi on May 20, Satyendra Paswan, wanted in the abduction and subsequent release of Latehar District Development Commissioner and two engineers, was arrested in Palamau on May 15 and five Maoists involved in the killing of 23 policemen in two incidents in Latehar and Garhwa districts.

Many of them carried cash rewards on their head.

Pradhan said police were looking for slef-styled zonal commanders Vindal Yadav and Sunil Bhuyan (both carry Rs five lakh on head), Vinod Paswan, Pramod Paswan (Rs three lakh), ‘area commanders’ Tara Yadav, Sanjay Yadav, Shambhu Yadav, Banarasi and Nirmal (all carry between Rs two and three lakh).

The IG said photographs of all these dreaded Maoists would soon be released on the police website so that people could recognise them.

According to the police records, 18 of the 24 districts are Maoist-hit, besides Dumka and Pakur reporting sporadic incidents.

Besides CPI (Maoist), the police are dealing with at least six splinter extremist groups like Tritiya Prastuti Committee, Tritiya Prastuti Committee-1 and the People’s Liberation Front of India.
