Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Police in association with Shaheed Welfare Committee Kathua is all set to organise the second Police Martyr's Memorial North Zone inter-club Twenty20 cricket championship in Kathua district of the state from December 11.

The championship is organized in remembrance of martyr's of J&K Police, who have sacrificed their lives while performing their duties.
    
"We are organising the second Police Martyr's Memorial North Zone inter-club T20 cricket championship under civic action programme at district sports stadium in Kathua from December 11," DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua range, Farooq Khan told reporters on Friday.

A total of 28 teams from across the northern region of the country including Patiala, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Delhi, Ludhiana, Hoshiarpur and parts of Jammu and Kashmir would participate in the championship, Khan informed.
    
He also added that the tournament will be played on knockout basis and the winning team will get a cash prize of Rs one lakh and a trophy, while the runner up will get Rs 51,000.
   
"Man of the series, meanwhile, will get a Suzuki Sling Shot motorcycle," the DIG said.
