New Delhi:  The Prime Minister Office (PMO) has referred the Shunglu Committee report to the Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday and given three months period to take a decision on the report.

According to the sources, the PMO has bought time by referring the Shunglu report to Home Ministry, as the latter has been assigned the responsibility to take a decision on it.

The officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs said, “Political confusion is likely to prevail as the decision will not be taken by the PMO but by Home Minister P Chidambaram himself.”

Chidambaram will take a final decision on the findings of the high-level Shunglu Committee and may ask the CBI to carry out further probe in the issue, said the sources.

Sports Minister Ajay Maken claimed on Wednesday, “Government is taking action against the guilty in a very efficient and effective manner. The guilty will not be spared.”
