Jalandhar: While expressing serious concern over increasing corruption in the society, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal said that all political parties should come together to fight against the menace for the development of nation.

Addressing a huge gathering here on Sunday, the Chief Minister said, “The menace of corruption is restricting the growth of the nation. Hence, all the political parties must blow bugle on the issue together”

While talking about unabated trafficking of drugs along the border states, Badal said the Central government must take concrete steps to put a stop on it.

The Chief Minister, while highlighting the role of society in checking this evil said that the joint effort of common man and the government can only restrict social menaces like graft, poverty etc.

While making special reference to the Right to Education (RTE) Act, Badal said, “The RTE Act is a very influential tool in the education sector but its proper implementation across the country is also very crucial.”

He further said that the Central Government must release funds earmarked for free education of poor and underprivileged children in private schools so that imparting free and compulsory education to such children can’t be delayed further.

Badal said that the Central Government should also desist from putting financial burden on the state for RTE Act.
