Bhopal: The much-talked Shehla Massod murder case has taken a political twist, as the leader of Opposition in the state, Ajay Singh Rahul, has admitted to have made recommendations at the high level in New Delhi for handing over the probe to Special Crime Branch in Delhi.

The probe was earlier in the hands of CBI’s Bhopal branch and now it has been handed over to Special Crime Branch of Delhi.

Shehla was shot dead by an unidentified person in front of her residence in the posh Koh-e-Fiza locality on August 16. After facing the heat over the murder case, the Chief Minister had decided to hand over the case to the CBI.

Shehla, who initially ran an event management company, became an RTI activist developed contacts with many high-profile BJP leaders in past few years. Names of some influential political personalities have surfaced during the CBI probe in the murder.

Although the CBI’s Bhopal unit had collected personal informations about Shehla, the case now being transferred to Special Crime Branch has got an interesting political tinge in the wake of the Congress leader’s acceptance in a press conference.

It is now being assessed that names of many high-profile would come to fore.
