The NDA government has given special attention to Haryana and Maharashtra and also focused on politically crucial states like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Assam.

At the same time, the government has approved several projects for southern states of Andhra Pradesh and newly carved Telangana.

The BJP had formed government in Maharashtra only once. However, after its resounding victory in the 16th Lok Sabha elections, the party is confident of its prospects in the Assembly outings in the western state.

In order to boost its chances in Maharashtra, Modi g0vernment has thrown in a great deal of attention in Mumbai local network, which runs across the nation’s financial capital as well as its adjoining areas.

It was announced in the Budget that Mumbai will get 864 additional trains in the next two years. Equipped with modern features, these trains will be powered by electricity. The government is also concentrating on development and upgradation of the lifeline of maximum city.

Plans are also in the pipeline to convert the Mumbai suburban railway line from 1500 volt DC to 25 KV AC. This will not only reduce the costs incurred on operating the trains but also save time.

Besides, Maharashtra has also got one premium, two Jansadharan, two AC express and four express trains. The first bullet train was also decided to be run between Mumbai and Ahmedabad.

Though Haryana, located close to Delhi, does not have any connectivity issue, the government has still paid attention towards it, especially on local connectivity.

In this context, two new tracks – Jind-Hisar, Hisar-Narwana, will be laid. A new passenger train between Rewari and Bikaner was announced and the task of doubling tracks between Rewari and Mahendragarh will also be taken up.

The Railway Minister also took care of the necessities of key political states like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Out of the five Jansadharan trains announced, four are for Bihar which includes – Ahmedabad-Darbhanga, Jainagar-Mumbai, Saharsa-Amritsar and Saharsa-Anand Vihar.

One Jansadharan train will ply between Gorakhpur and Mumbai. Besides, both Uttar Pradesh and Bihar also got around half a dozen of trains. Both the states will witness doubling of railway tracks.
