Ahmedabad: The difference between BJP’s high command and its star campaigner Narendra Modi refuses to die down. Despite the huge demand of Gujarat Chief Minister to campaign in Uttar Pradesh, Modi has abstained from it.

It is believed that Modi apparently unhappy with the party re-inducting his arch-rival Sanjay Joshi would skip campaigning in Uttar Pradesh.

There were speculations in the political corridors that Modi will campaign in UP but unfortunately he has been unable to move out from Gujarat due to his Sadbhavana fast and the differences over induction of Sanjay Joshi in the party.  Modi has promised to visit every district in the state and hold his Sadbhavana fast which will end on February 12.

Besides, the dates of Gujarat Assembly's budget session is also clashing with Uttar Pradesh polls, therefore it is unlikely that Modi would campaign in UP.

However, BJP stalwarts have played down any differences with Modi.Senior BJP leader LK Advani said, “There are no differences within the party with regard to the election campaign in Uttar Pradesh. Everybody is going as per their own convenience."
