Noida: Providing a big relief to the farmers, the Noida Authority regularized population of 16 villages on Monday. The authority also allocated five percent land in compensation for land acquisition to the famers belonging to these villages.

Out of the 16 villages, the authority issued explanatory details of 10 villages on Monday while the list of four villages will be issued on Tuesday. In these villages, 1,568 famers are to receive 3,48,191 metres square of land as their 5 percent land share in exchange of their acquitted land.

On the demand of the Kisan Sangharsh Samiti, the authority carried out a survey of the villages and as per the official documents related to agricultural fields, people were included and excluded from the list. The farmers are now required to fulfill five norms for the population back lease.

Chairman Balwinder Kumar said, “The allocation of 5 percent land to the farmers to compensate land acquisition has     been done. We have also reduced the compulsory formalities from 14 to 5 which need to be fulfilled by the farmers.”                            

Media spokesperson of Kisan Sangharsh Samiti Mahesh Awana said, “The farmers have received the list of the plot      allocation. We will now hold a meeting to observe the benefits provided to the farmers and chalk out the future strategy.”

Meanwhile, the farmers of Noida Sector 74 remained on fast on Monday. On feeling dejected that their voices are not being heard, they carried out demonstrations while some youths disrupted work at construction sites. When the City Magistrate Kanchan Saran and Superintendent of Police Anant Dev Mauke interfered in this issue, the farmers refused to discuss.
