New Delhi: A day after Gujarat assembly election results were announced, Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Friday met senior Rashtriya Swayam Sangh (RSS) leader Bhaskar Rao Damle, popularly called Damleji, at RSS office in Maninagar.

Damleji was a few months ago removed from RSS’s executive body after he joined former Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel, who parted his ways with BJP in August this year.

The RSS sources termed it a courtesy meet saying, "He (Modi) often visits. He met all the workers and they congratulated him on his victory."

BJP strongman repeated his success story again in 2012 assembly polls by winning 115 seats and keeping the Congress at bay from returning to power. The Congress managed to bag only 61 seats.
