"I am extremely happy to hear the stunning victory of Bharatiya Janta Party in the Parliamentary elections paving way for formation of a BJP-led government in India," Prachanda wrote in a letter dispatched to Singh on Monday.

"I personally and also on the behalf of my party sincerely congratulate you for your party's grand electoral success," he said.

The former prime minister expressed confidence that the cooperation between the two parties and the friendly relations between Nepal and India would be further strengthened during the term of the BJP-led government.

"I wish all the success of the new BJP government and I am optimistic that cooperation between the two parties and relations between Nepal and India will grow further during the tenure of the BJP government in India," he said.

"I look forward for cooperating with one another for the larger interest of the two countries and the two peoples," Prahanda wrote.
