Ranchi: UPA Presidential nominee Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday said that since Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee had not spoken her mind on supporting him, he was still hopeful.

"I am hopeful. She has not decided and, I understand, she said that she will communicate her decision two days before the elections," he told reporters here when asked whether he expected UPA ally West Bengal Chief Minister's support.

He said all UPA partners, save one, were supporting his candidature and other parties like Samajwadi Party, BSP, RJD, LJP, Janata Dal (S), Janata Dal (U) and Shiv Sena were supporting him for which he was thankful.

Mukherjee, who met JMM president Shibu Soren and Ajsu party president and Deputy Chief Minister Sudesh Mahto, refused to join issue with BJP-supported candidate P A Sangma's charge on offices of profit against him.

"All their allegations have been rejected by the Returning Officer and the Election Commission. I will not like to comment on the so called allegations," Mukherjee said.

RJD chief Lalu Prasad, who was present at the press meet, said, "We will miss Pranabda in Parliament. It is just a formality before he takes oath as President on July 25. We will meet him at Rastrapati Bhavan."

Lok Janshakti Party chief Ram Vilas Paswan, who was also present said the "President is above party lines".

Mukherjee said he had interacted with the media as either a Congress spokesman or a minister for the last five decades.

"Now I am entering another stage of my life. So this type of interaction with you will not take place. A new phase of my life (will begin), if I get elected in the July 19 elections," Mukherjee said.

Union ministers Subodh Kant Sahay and Rajeev Shukla and AICC spokesman Shakeel Ahmed were also present.
