"Lalu should join the agitation for construction of a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya. The Hindu society will accept him as their leader," Togadia said. He also said whoever will speak for Hindus, will become the leader of Hindus.

"If Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar advocates for Hindus' cause, he will be our leader," Togadia said.

Earlier, the VHP leader hailed Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for enforcing total prohibition in the state and said he would like to see a countrywide ban on consumption of liquor. He also praised political parties for "unanimity of views" on restoring peace in Jammu and Kashmir and suggested that the visiting all-party delegation should work out a comprehensive solution.
