New Delhi: President Pratibha Patil and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Thursday condoled the death of Rajya Sabha MP from Assam Silvius Condopan.
   
The President has condoled the death of Condopan, a Rashtrapati Bhavan official said.
   
Singh in his message said the state has lost one of its "most experienced" and "committed" leaders. "He was deeply committed to the welfare of tea workers, the poor and underprivileged sections of society," Singh said in a condolence message.
   
73-year old Condopan, who was a prominent leader from the tea tribe community, died at the AIIMS here on Monday following prolonged illness.
