Kolkata: Without naming Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee, UPA Presidential candidate Pranab Mukherjee on Friday appealed to the leadership of parties which had not yet decided on support for him to do so.

"The leadership of those parties who have not been able to take a decision, I appeal to them for their support," Mukherjee told reporters here when asked whether he would meet Banerjee, the West Bengal Chief Minister, to seek support for his candidature.

"I have been nominated by the UPA. Around 14 to 15 parties, who are not part of the UPA, have supported me," Mukherjee said at his residence here after arriving from Delhi.

He named JD(U), CPI(M), Forward Bloc, Shiv Sena and RJD among other parties the support of which he had secured.
