Naidu said the essence of President Mukherjee’s address revolved around the goal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Central government of building a strong, self-reliant and self-confident India which is regaining its rightful place in the comity of nations through appropriate actions.

“The President’s address reflects the mind of the new government led by Modi. It is a clear charter of problems, priorities and actions proposed and rightly interprets the verdict of the people of the country in the recent general elections to the Lok Sabha,” Naidu said in a statement here.

Naidu also hailed the President’s address for reflecting the pro-farmer initiative of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government that aims at ensuring water security for all through its ‘Paradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana’ with the motto ‘har khet ko paani’.
“President Mukherjee’s address to the Joint Session of the Parliament also reflected the objective of NDA government which is promotion of true national integration by making the weaker sections and all minorities genuine partners in nation building,” he said.

Naidu also applauded the President for mentioning the government’s commitment to ensure benefits of economic development for weaker sections and minorities.

Making special mention about the economic situation of the country, Naidu said, “President Mukherjee’s address has concisely reflected the problems and challenges inherited by the NDA government. Moreover, the remedial actions to be taken to place the country’s economy back on track were also given due consideration by him.”

Naidu, who also hold holds urban development portfolio, hailed the President for calling urbanization as an opportunity than a challenge,

When asked about the developmental projects on the anvil, Naidu said, “The government will build 100 smart cities equipped with world class amenities and integrated infrastructure. We are committed to ensure pucca houses to all urban people with water connection, toilets and 24x7 electricity supply.”

In his address, President Pranab Mukherjee expressed happiness over the strong and stable government formed at the Centre, saying this could provide effective leadership to the country.
