New Delhi: Five-year jail sentence handed out to film star Sanjay Dutt on Thursday comes as a shocker to entire film fraternity. His sister and Lok Sabha MP Priya Dutt was shattered after the Supreme Court’s ruling. Priya could not control herself after the Apex Court rejected the plea for Sanjay Dutt’s probation asking the Bollywood actor to server rest part of his imprisonment which is three and a half years as he has already served 18 months in jail during 1993-blast trial.

It is widely known that the Sanjay and Priya share a very good chemistry and have always stood by each-other in tough times.

Reducing the jail term handed out to the actor by a TADA court from six years to five years, the Apex Court observed that Sanjay Dutt was guilty of possessing illegal arms during the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts. The court directed Dutt to surrender within four weeks.

Priya Dutt always stood by her brother during the court proceedings. She would console her brother all the time during trial, but she could not control her emotions when the court’s verdict came on Thursday. When Priya Dutt came out of the court, news reporters surrounded her to get the reaction but she refused to say anything.

Sanjay Dutt has already served 18 months in jail in this case, now he has to serve rest part of his jail term which is three-and-a-half years.
