Priyanka took away the keys of cars of SPG personnel with her, which forced the men protecting Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s daughter to trail her as she enthusiastically met with the crowd.

Local Congress sources said that Priyanka was apparently upset with the attitude of SPG personnel towards her interaction with people.

Prior to this incident, Priyanka during her public meeting in Amethi once again sang praises of her brother and late father Rajiv Gandhi, the former prime minister of India, in front of the crowd.

Priyanka said when her father represented this constituency, it was a golden period.

Drawing a parallel between her brother and father, Priyanka said both have the same outlook as the Congress vice-president believes in planning about the future well ahead in time.

Priyanka also urged the people to vote responsibly in the elections, urging them to respect all cultures and religions.

“It is your responsibility to secure the tradition of this country that respects all cultures and religions. Vote responsibly,” Priyanka said.

“I will not ask you for votes, I know you will take the right decision. You know who the right candidate for you is,” she added.

Priyanka also expressed gratitude to the voters of Amethi for their constant support and claimed that there was no serious competition for her brother in the Gandhi family’s pocket borough.
