Priyanka said the BJP’s prime ministerial aspirant should at least respect the position he is fighting for.

“An opposition leader makes fun of Rahulji, calls him ‘shehzada’. Why is a PM aspirant exhibiting such childish behaviour?” she asked.

Priyanka, who was addressing a public meeting in Amethi, also took potshots at Smriti Irani, the BJP’s candidate from Amethi Lok Sabha seat.
She called Smriti an ‘armchair’ politician and accused her of not being in touch with the ground reality.

“Some opposition leaders come here and spread misinformation. They are not in touch with ground reality,” she said.

Priyanka, who has been campaigning aggressively in Amethi and Rae Barely, had earlier also criticized Irani.

Taking a jibe at Irani, Priyanka had earlier questioned the actress-turned-politician whether she had visited Chandni Chowk constituency ever again after tasting defeat at the hands of Congress leader Kapil Sibal in the 2004 general elections.

“She had contested elections from Chandni Chowk. Did she ever go back there?” she asked.

Priyanka also tried to strike an emotional chord with the people here as she reminded them of her family’s close-knit relations with this seat.

She said Rahul Gandhi has a vision for Amethi just like her father and former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi had for the constituency.
